WASHINGTON, DC – Today, the Black Economic Alliance PAC (BEA PAC), a coalition of business leaders and aligned advocates committed to using their collective power and business acumen to support candidates and policies that advance Black economic progress and prosperity, shared the following statement from BEA CEO Samantha Tweedy on the results of last night’s debate between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump:
“Last night’s debate presented a clear contrast between two very different visions for our country Vice President Kamala Harris’s which would advance economic opportunities for all and build up the middle class and Donald Trump’s, which would raise taxes for the middle class, increase prescription drug costs, and make it drastically harder for everyday Americans to afford basic necessities.
“Unlike Donald Trump, Vice President Harris offered viewers an actionable, forward-thinking plan to build an Opportunity Economy where everyone has a chance to participate and succeed. Her proposals to increase affordable housing, empower entrepreneurs and small business owners, and create ladders of opportunity for future generations – areas critical to advancing Black opportunity and prosperity – demonstrate her ability to tackle some of the most complex and challenging issues facing everyone in our nation.
“The stakes of this election could not be higher for the future of Black economic progress. Vice President Harris is the right choice as the future leader for our country.”
