WASHINGTON, DC—Today, the Black Economic Alliance PAC (BEA PAC), a coalition of business leaders and aligned advocates committed to using their collective power and business acumen to support candidates and policies that advance Black economic progress and prosperity, released the following statement from CEO Samantha Tweedy congratulating the ten BEA PAC-endorsed representatives on their swearing-in, including the first two Black women to serve concurrently in the history of the United States Senate.

“BEA PAC congratulates our endorsed leaders on their swearing-in today, marking a significant step forward in our shared mission to advance Black work, wages, and wealth. We are confident these leaders will work to expand Black economic opportunity, growing the economy for all Americans. This historic moment also marks the first two Black women to concurrently serve in the United States Senate, Angela Alsobrooks (MD) and Lisa Blunt Rochester (DE), who will be part of the largest Congressional Black Caucus in history. Their election is a milestone in ensuring the voices and perspectives of Black women are represented at the highest levels of government.

“BEA PAC is committed to advancing a Black work, wages, and wealth agenda and ensuring that elected leaders are positioned to drive sustainable economic progress for Black Americans and the entire nation.”

In the 2024 election cycle, BEA PAC endorsed congressional candidates who demonstrated an unwavering commitment to advancing Black economic opportunity and delivering meaningful change in their communities. This included Senators Angela Alsobrooks (MD) and Lisa Blunt Rochester (DE), and Representatives Kristen McDonald Rivet (MI-08), Hillary Scholten (MI-03), Don Davis (NC-01), Steven Horsford (NV-04), Lizzie Fletcher (TX-07), Lauren Underwood (IL-14), Sanford Bishop (GA-02), and Lucy McBath (GA-07).
