WASHINGTON, D.C. –– Black Economic Alliance PAC, a coalition of business leaders and aligned advocates committed to using their collective power and business acumen to support candidates and policies that advance Black economic progress and prosperity, released the below statement from CEO Samantha Tweedy on the Harris-Walz campaign’s plan for small businesses:

“The ability to start and grow a small business is one of the key pathways to building generational wealth in America.

“Vice President Harris’ Opportunity Economy agenda will remove barriers and provide investment to make it easier for new and existing entrepreneurs to build their businesses, hire more workers, and serve as economic engines in their communities. Many of the proposals reflect solutions and research outlined in BEA’s Policy Agenda to Advance Black Work, Wages, and Wealth – and we are pleased to see that her proposal includes specific interventions to address longstanding systemic challenges facing Black entrepreneurs in particular.

“As a coalition of business leaders with a longstanding relationship with Vice President Harris, we know she understands what the private sector needs to grow, invest, and thrive. This proposal reflects that understanding and her commitment to breaking down barriers and advancing economic opportunity for all Americans. ”
