WASHINGTON, D.C. –– The Black Economic Alliance PAC, a coalition of business leaders and aligned advocates supporting candidates who advance Black economic progress, released the below statement from CEO Samantha Tweedy on Vice President Harris’ latest proposal to expand economic opportunity for Black men:

“Vice President Harris’ policies will break down barriers created by an unfair system and give Black men access to opportunities and tools that will help them build wealth. They build on her long track record of prioritizing Black prosperity as California’s Attorney General, in the United States Senate, and as Vice President – where we worked closely with her on the Economic Opportunity Tour.

“Providing one million fully forgivable loans would make it easier for Black men to start and grow small businesses that are engines of opportunity in our communities. The new investments in education, training, and mentorship programs will provide the tools needed to access higher-paying jobs in the fastest-growing industries.

“As a coalition of Black business leaders, we know that the concrete policy solutions in Vice President Harris’s Opportunity Agenda for Black Men will not only expand Black economic opportunity but grow American businesses and our economy as a whole.”

The policies in the Opportunity Agenda for Black Men agenda build on many of the solutions in BEA’s Policy Agenda to Advance Black Work, Wages, and Wealth, which also fueled Vice President Harris’s Economic Opportunity Tour earlier this year.
